We've Moved and are Planning for Reopening

Read Now

The San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) very generously provides space for the Book Project free of charge. Since 2016, we have been located in two classrooms at Jones Elementary School. We could not have asked for better relationships than what we enjoyed with both of the school's principals during our time there: Ramon Velasco and Crecia Robinson.

The SBCUSD must make decisions about where to house their departments and services in ways that best serve their students and families. Alas, the two classrooms that we occupied at Jones Elementary had to be repurposed and we have moved. The very good news is that we are once again working with Ramon Velasco at Lincoln Elementary. Our space is smaller but with COVID-19 distancing requirements, we are rethinking our distribution model anyway. We are excited to once again get books in the hands of children on a larger scale than what has been possible under COVID restrictions.

We will be making an announcement once our plans are set. You can still make monetary donations and we are always accepting children's books. We are a 100%-volunteer organization, so we are also accepting the donation of time from people who love books and children.
